Dale W. Felton
Dale Felton is a trial specialist, Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a Past President of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association.
Highly respected in the Houston legal community, Mr. Felton has served as lead attorney in over 100 jury trials and 150 bench trials. He is also an appellate lawyer, having handled numerous appeals including cases before the Texas Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Felton has always been one to take on big insurance companies like Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, and State Farm. His landmark Texas Supreme Court case, Arnold v. National County Mutual Fire Ins. Co., established the law of bad faith in Texas. That case established that an insurance company owes its insured a duty of good faith and fair dealing. The Supreme Court ruled that an insured may sue their insurance company if the insurance company does not treat the policyholder fairly.
Dale Felton has been a guest speaker at over 100 legal seminars across the country and has published numerous articles and professional papers. He is considered an authority in personal injury and property damage law.
Mr. Felton is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Membership in the Forum is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members. Mr. Felton says, however, “You shouldn’t have to have a million dollar case to have a million dollar lawyer!”
Mr. Felton is now taking on insurance companies to recover homeowners’ damages caused by Hurricane Ike. He is a leading advocate for policyholders, and approaches every case with careful attention to detail and dedication to excellence.
